Learn to Speed Skate!
This year we are excited to offer 3 options!
Our Learn to Speed Skate Programs allows people to test out the exciting sport of speed skating to see if this is a sport for them.
During the Month of September we are offering our very popular “Olympic Special” Try Speed Skating. 3 sessions for $60 - includes skates, safety gear and instruction! Limited Spots and ONLY during September!
Learn to Speed Skate - YOUTH & Family - ages 5+ $200** (limited spaces)
This program consists of 8 one-hour sessions that will introduce the skates and mechanics of the sports. Participants will be engaged by our knowledgeable coaches and helpful advanced level skaters through on-ice drills, games and perhaps some beginner races. You choose the 8 sessions!
2 sessions available - Fall (October thru December) and Winter (January thru March 2027)
Includes skate rental, all safety gear, coaching, and ice usage.
Tuesday and or Friday nights 615-715pm
*Skater MUST ALSO register for SSO & SSC Membership fee “First Strides” for insurance purposes - Speed Skating Ontario FEE (2026-27 season) $20.00+HST+ $15.00 Speed Skating Canada FEE = $37.60

NOTE: Skaters are encouraged to bring their own helmet due to limited number of helmets at the club. Please see our equipment page regarding appropriate attire for skating and contact the club for any further questions.
